The historic character of the building is truly charming.
The common areas need serious upgrades, particularly the bar upholstery.

This place suits me perfectly with free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, and a lovely bar area. The staff once helped me with a great local taxi tip, which I remember fondly. Highly recommend saving your breakfast option. I'm coming back for Christmas!

Well-equipped room for a comfortable stay.
We ended up far from the town center, which completely ruined our plans. The lack of support from the hotel staff during this crisis was extremely disappointing.

Charming Stay with Character and Convenience
Staying here felt like stepping back in time with its Victorian features. Loved the generous touch of Scottish shortbread in the room! Pro tip, the full Scottish breakfast is a must — no buffet here, just deliciously cooked to order. Enjoy the quiet atmosphere!

the hotel was in a great spot, super close to the train station which made it easy for us to get around. the staff were really friendly and made us feel welcomed. the room was comfy and had all the basic stuff we needed. it was also quiet, even tho it's right by the trains. loved that we could walk to town for dinner.
there was no fridge in the room and the heating went off at night, which got a little chilly.

Charming old architecture adjacent to the railway station makes for a picturesque stay. The courtyard bistro offers a solid menu with delicious options that please the palate.
The property shows signs of age, particularly in the common areas where the bar upholstery and carpets could use an upgrade. While convenient, the short walk into town exposes some less appealing views and may not suit everyone. I found the cooked breakfast lacking in flavor, with both square sausage and haggis missing that distinct taste. The overcooked bacon and deep-fried mushrooms didn't add to the experience, making for a disappointing start to mornings.

Solo traveler looking for comfort
I gotta say, the staff here were incredible, especially the receptionist who found me a fan when my room got too hot. The bar was cozy, and I enjoyed a quiet dram while reflecting on the day. It's those little things that really make it feel special.

comfortable room but lacking conveniences
The standard king room with a king bed was quite spacious, which allowed for a relaxed stay. The bed itself was comfortable, providing a good night's sleep after a long day of travel.
Unfortunately, there were no meals provided during the stay.

Comfortable and quiet stay
Super convenient spot right by the train station! We were worried about noise, but it was totally chill at night. The room was spacious and clean. Loved the towel warmer in the bathroom. Only thing was we didn’t eat there, but the dining area looked nice!
